¯ Deputies were dispatched to 404 Fort Harmar Dr. in reference to an overdose on Sept. 6. Upon arrival, Marietta Fire Department administered Narcan and was able to revive the subject. Drug abuse instruments were observed in plain view and a search of the vehicle was conducted. The male suspect was transported to the hospital and will be receiving a summons for drug abuse instruments.

¯ Officers received a call regarding a disturbance at a Dawes Circle residence on Sept. 6. Upon arrival and investigation it was found that Kaylee Sandy, Chance Anderson and a child were living in an apartment with unfit conditions including excessive trash and animal feces in the residence. As a result of the investigation, Child Protective Services removed the child. Both Chance Anderson and Kaylee Sandy were arrested for child endangerment.

¯ Police units were in the area of the 500 block of Front Street on Sept. 6, when they made contact with a male whom was identified as John Gibson. It was known Gibson had an active warrant for his arrest. Gibson was taken to the Washington County Jail.

¯ Marietta Police began an investigation on Sept. 7 into a report of a young child being molested by an older child. A detective is investigating the report.

¯ Officers responded to the emergency room wing of Marietta Memorial Hospital on Sept. 8 for a disruptive patient. A 43-year-old female was reported through anonymous sources, for comments made through the patient’s social media accounts that indicated self harm, as well as threats and harassment of other individuals which caused concerns regarding the patient’s well being. After a welfare check by local authorities to her residence on Ninth Street, it was believed that Angela R. Fleeman was acting erratically and in need of medical evaluation. While in the emergency room, the patient’s behavior started to affect staff operations as she would not calm down. The call was made by hospital staff to local authorities and officers arrested Fleeman for disorderly conduct at a medical facility.

¯ A deputy was dispatched to 100 Alderman St. in reference to a theft complaint on Sept. 8. Contact was made with the caller who advised he was the victim of a scam involving the promise of a Publishers Clearing House prize requiring gift cards to pay release fees. At this time this case remains under investigation.

¯ Officers spoke with the property owner at 408 Marion St. on Sept. 8 regarding some items he found on the property he owns. The owner was concerned that it might be drug related. The items, found by officers, on the property were placed into evidence for destruction.

¯ A deputy responded to the Super 8 Motel on Sept. 9 in reference to a death on arrival. A 53-year-old male was found deceased in his hotel room. There is no foul play suspected and the coroner’s office released the body.

¯ Deputies investigated an assault that occurred at Marietta High School on Sept. 9. A student involved in the incident will be cited into Washington County Juvenile Court for assaulting another student.

¯ Officers responded to the Townhouse on Sept. 9 in reference to a loud noise/music complaint. After providing several previous warnings in the months before, a charge of disturbing the peace will be filed.

¯ Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of Pike Street on Sept. 9. During the stop, a metal container was observed in plain view which is commonly used to conceal drugs. A K-9 sniff resulted in a positive indication. A search of the vehicle revealed suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine. Charges will be requested upon the receipt of the drug results.

¯ Deputies stopped a vehicle for the operator having a suspended driver’s license on Sept. 10. While speaking with the driver, it was learned that there were illegal drugs inside of the vehicle. A white powdery substance was seized and will be sent to BCI for chemical testing.

¯ Local authorities responded to 504 Pike St. in reference to a male passed out in his vehicle. Upon arrival, units met with the male now standing outside his vehicle. After investigation, Peyton D. Williams was arrested for underage consumption and open container.

¯ Deputies responded to Wal-Mart in reference to a male subject being behind the building huffing air duster on Sept. 10. An officer located Joseph Radcliff and placed him under arrest. It was later determined Radcliff had stolen the air duster from Wal-Mart as well.

¯ Officers stopped a vehicle for having expired registration on Sept. 10. During the stop, a K9 indicated on the passenger side of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, suspected methamphetamine was located. The item was seized and it will be sent to BCI for chemical testing.

¯ Deputies were dispatched to Sixth and Washington on Sept. 10 in reference to a suspicious person walking up on porches in the neighborhood. Subject was advised to stay off people’s properties and quit yelling. Subject then began yelling again in the middle of the roadway. Jeffrey Grant-Wayne Powers was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail for disorderly conduct and failure to cease and desist.

¯ Units were dispatched to the 100 block of Front Street in reference to a fight on Sept. 10. Upon arrival and after investigation it was reported Noah Sweeting had been arguing with his girlfriend outside and struck her. Several people stepped in and Sweeting struck one of them. Sweeting was arrested for assault and taken to the Washington County Jail.

¯ A deputy was dispatched to the VFW on Sept. 11, in reference to a female that was highly intoxicated and refusing to leave. Upon arrival the female was criminally trespassing and refused to leave. Shawna McKnight was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and taken to the Washington County Jail.

¯ An officer was dispatched to Bridgeport Equipment on Sept. 12 in reference to a piece of rental equipment not being returned. At this time, this case is still under investigation.

¯ A Stihl leaf blower was turned into the Marietta Police Department on Sept. 12 that had been found abandoned in the 600 block Pearl Street extension.

¯ A deputy was dispatched to 498 Pike St. at the Marathon gas station on Sept. 12 in reference to a theft report. Video surveillance and statements were gathered and entered into the case file. At this time, this case remains under further investigation.
